“Agritechnica Asia”, a spin-off of Agritechnica, the world's leading agricultural machinery exhibition held biennially in Hannover, Germany, serves growth regions in Asia. It has become instantly established as a central forum for decision-makers and experts from the fields of farming and agricultural technology in Asia.

Agritechnica Asia 2025 will take place from 12-14 March in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, marking its premiere in the country. With its rapidly growing economy and government plans for fostering agricultural mechanization, Vietnam offers significant potential for agricultural machinery manufacturers. The successful implementation of the field exhibition AGRITECHNICA ASIA Live in 2022 in Vietnam demonstrated the significant local interest in an international agricultural fair. Agritechnica Asia in Vietnam will focus on rice, maize, sugarcane, cassava, vegetable and feed production.

About 150 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors from Vietnam and neighbouring countries are anticipated. An extensive technical program supplements the range of products and services offered by the exhibitors. 250 top buyers will be invited exclusively and guarantee new business.

Agritechnica Asia will be held in parallel with HortEx for the first time, the leading exhibition in South East Asia for professional horticulture and floriculture, Synergies between the two exhibitions include machinery and crop cultivation, offering visitors an efficient overview of all technologies. HortEx is organized by Minh Vi Exhibition and Advertisement Services Co., Ltd. (VEAS) and Nova Exhibitions BV, an exhibition specialist from the Netherlands, a country home to horticulture and floriculture know-how. IPM Essen, the world's leading horticultural exhibition in Essen, Germany, is supporting HortEx with their extensive network.

Agritechnica Asia will rotate between the locations Ho Chi Minh City in the uneven years and Bangkok in the even years.

The market

Vietnam has one of the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia. Since 1991 the economic growth has averaged a stunning 7.5% each year. Vietnam is among nine nations in the world with the fastest growing middle-class in the coming decade. By 2030 Vietnam is expected to add 36 million people to its middle class.

Agriculture holds significant potential, contributing approximately 18 percent to the GDP and engaging 39 percent of Vietnam's 100 million inhabitants, making it a crucial sector. Revenues from agricultural exports surged from $4.2 billion in 2004 to $41.3 billion in 2019, positioning Vietnam as the second-largest exporter in Southeast Asia. Rice, the primary cultivation, sustains the livelihoods of two-thirds of rural workforce, and Vietnam, producing over 40 million tons annually, is the world's second-largest rice exporter.

The government is actively promoting the mechanization of agriculture. By 2030, Vietnam aims for 70 percent mechanization in crop production, targeting an estimated income of around 120 million VND (5,140 USD) per year for farmers, according to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Le Minh Hoan. He emphasized the necessity of smart technologies, digitization, and automation as inevitable solutions to enhance labor productivity for efficient agricultural production and sustainable development.
